Yet another story of stolen puppies this week! In Fremont, CA, puppies were stolen from a pet shop valuing more than $11,000. The 17 purebred puppies were stolen from Puppy Love Boutique and were between 9 and 13 weeks old. Breeds stolen included Poodles, Shih Tzus, St. Bernards, Corgis and Dalmatians.

The store owner Omid Mehdavi, is currently in the hospital suffering from a fractured skull, clavicle and ribs. The store owner was showing police where he thought the puppy thieves entered the store when he fell through a skylight on the store’s roof Thursday morning.

According to one of the investigators, there were no signs of forced entry, and the burglars stole the most expensive breeds and took the correct dog food for each breed. Talk about nerve, the puppy thieves not only stole the puppies but food too!

Although the theft occurred at the same pet shop that has been the site of a protest for suspected links to puppy mills, police said there was no indication the theft was related to the protest.

Anyone with information on Thursday’s heist may call police at 510-790-6900.
